Wow – the first week is all over, blogs done, comments done and grades up. As usual, I was impressed by the quality of your blogging. I knew you could do it!
Some blogs of particular note are (in no particular order – other than alphabetical) Bonita’s, Daniel’s, Fransesca’s, Hannah’s, Karen’s, Louise’s, and Tristan’s.
One thing I would say, is that several of you are writing and commenting about creativity (or the lack thereof) in education. Be careful how you define or categorise as creative. Although it is normal to think of art, dance, drama, and music as creative, maths, chemistry, and even psychology (in other words – all academic subjects) can, and should be creative endeavours. I believe that this is one of the reasons that creativity is not encouraged in education. Those with a bias against the arts devalue creativity. Great theories and discoveries aren’t made looking for the one right answer.
